Step 3 - Book Your First Consultation

And Important Steps After You've Booked

Your initial consultation is a key piece as we start your journey. The more information you can provide in this session, the more specific your custom plan will be.

During a safe and confidential in-person meeting or zoom call, you can expect to talk about:

  • Your goals, successes, challenges, and concerns
  • Any past work on your goals, and how well they worked for you
  • If weight loss is a primary goal, have you tried any diet changes previously?
  • The foods, activities, and exercises you know make you feel good
  • Your stress level, sleep patterns, activity level, and mental health
  • Your medical history and a pharmacy or physician provided list of current medications

Some of the topics we will cover may be quite personal. Please make sure you are in a safe, quiet place where you feel comfortable speaking freely. For a video call, you will need a computer or smart device with camera and video capabilities as well as an email address to receive your Zoom invitation. Please also have your photo ID on hand as confirmation of identity is required.

Once we have a complete picture of your lifestyle and current health, you can expect to receive some advice for diet and lifestyle changes that you can make right away to start progressing toward your goals. You will also receive detailed instructions for your next steps.

After Your Consultation

There are a few steps you will need to complete after your consultation before receiving your custom plan:

  • Get a physician’s requisition for specific lab tests (the names of the tests will be provided to you).
  • A journal is recommended to document your progress as well as how you feel along the way.
  • You may want to pick up a food scale as many recipes will have weight measurements.
  • Body measuring tape – you can find this at a craft or sewing store

When Your Plan Arrives

Your food guide, meal plan, and exercise recommendations are completely unique to you. When it’s ready, you will have an extensive list of foods, instructions on how to use them, and delicious and easy recipes for every meal of the day. You may also want to:

  • Donate unhealthy processed foods in your home that aren’t in your list and might tempt you to stray from the plan.
  • Plan a big shop or meal prep day to ensure you have everything on hand – the easier you make it to reach for your best foods, the easier it will be to stick with it!
  • You may also be recommended supplements. While not required, they can be very helpful.
  • Don’t push too hard with your exercise or make too many other changes. It can be exciting to make positive adjustments, but you want to make sure you don’t overwhelm or stress yourself.

Follow Up Sessions

Your weekly follow-up sessions are there to make sure that you have the support you need to succeed.

We’ll talk about how are enjoying your plan, and what lifestyle changes you’ve implemented and how they are working for you.

We will also track your progress, answer any questions you may have, or make adjustments to your program where necessary.
